Mens Hair Brushes

Author: Theodore Category: Hair Brushes

When we think about hair brushes, we don't generally think of mens hair brushes so much as those used by women. We always think that men can do fine with a comb, since their hair is normally shorter than women's hair. But they may need brushes too, since they are less stressful to the hair than combs are. To keep looking well-groomed, men will want to use a natural hair brush to distribute evenly the natural oils in their hair, and to keep their hair soft and shiny.

When you set out to purchase a good hair brush for men, keep in mind their hair type and the style they wear. If they have wavy or curly hair, that may be a bit longer than most styles, you might want to select a flat brush with a boar bristle, to better use on their hair. A man's brush made of boar bristles is more of a natural type brush than some others, and will keep their hair from breaking and their scalp from being scratched, since the bristles have more flexibility. If you can't find a boar bristle brush, select a brush with plastic balls at the end of each bristle, which will also avoid scratching the scalp and breaking off any hair. The scalp's skin is tender and easy to scratch, so you want to avoid that.

If you're purchasing mens hair brushes for a man with longer, straighter hair, choose a natural bristle to keep split ends at bay, or select a round brush, which will help to tame their hair down, especially if they blow it dry. Keep in mind that the wider the brush, the larger the circumference, the more the brush will be able to straighten their hair as they blow it dry. This can be true even if their hair is not long enough to wrap over the brush.

If your man's hair is thick and coarse, you might want to select a brush that has a very high quality bristle that is firm. Make sure the brush you pick has a handle that is sturdy and easy to hold. When they brush their hair, they will also massage the scalp, and help to distribute the essential oils found in the hair. As this happens, their hair will become shinier and healthier, and coarse hair will look more well-groomed.

If your man has shorter hair, such as a buzz cut, they will not be as challenged in finding a brush to keep their hair looking good. A good brushing is still important, though, to stimulate the hair follicles and spread out the valuable oils.

If the man you are brush-shopping for has dandruff, using a firm bristled hair brush will help to distribute oils to the follicles of the hair. It will also stimulate blood flow, and this can help in preventing dandruff.

When men style their hair, firm bristles will help to shift the hair for proper styling. Some men enjoy longer hair styles, even those with curls, and this style will require extra care and using proper mens hair brushes.
